The Warsaw Spire will be one of the highest buildings in Warsaw. The building will create a new city landmark, dramatically altering Warsaw's skyline. Located in one of the most dynamically developing parts of the city the development will be pivotal to a vibrant new business centre.
Comprising a 48- storey tower (180 meters high) and two 15-storey (55 meter high) buildings, with below ground a 5-storey basement car park, plus technical space to serve the entire development. The slim and dynamic design will create an urban space that will seemingly combine commercial and public facilities. Getting this scheme to approval and permit stage would be complex.
The challenges faced included "high profile" architecture on a large scale, a busy, city-centre location next to one of the main arteries of the city, in close proximity to existing buildings, on land that had previously been used for industrial purposes.
Working with a client that promotes professional solutions our consultants were able to face the challenges by providing multi-disciplinary engineering solutions. These included structural, building services, geotechnical and façade engineering, as well as wind tunnel analysis and ground investigation and assessment.
The Warsaw Spire has now been constructed and a number of high-profile international companies have taken space. .
